BC Soccer supports Via Sport’s release of its Flag Tool for Sport designed to help people determine if a behaviour crossed the line and get guidance on how to respond.
Over the last number of years, BC Soccer has increased its focus on safety. This can be seen in the enhanced rules, policies, procedures, and its formalized partnership with Safe Sport industry leaders ITP Sport to receive and triage all BC Soccer complaints to further improve this process and provide increased transparency in complaint management.
We understand that the area of Safe Sport can be difficult to understand and there may be grey areas on what is appropriate and what is not. To help people assess behaviors they have experienced, we are pleased to share the Via Sport developed Player Safe BC Flag Tool for Sport. We encourage all members and affiliated clubs to have this posted on their respective websites and share it with the members and participants.
